Isaiah 6 (ESV)

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called to another and said:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory!”

4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”

6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”

8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” 9 And he said, “Go, and say to this people:

“‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’
10 Make the heart of this people dull,
    and their ears heavy,
    and blind their eyes;
lest they see with their eyes,
    and hear with their ears,
and understand with their hearts,
    and turn and be healed.”
11 Then I said, “How long, O Lord?”
And he said:
“Until cities lie waste
    without inhabitant,
and houses without people,
and the land is a desolate waste,
12 and the Lord removes people far away,
and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.
13 And though a tenth remain in it,
    it will be burned again,
like a terebinth or an oak,
    whose stump remains
    when it is felled.”
The holy seed is its stump.

Oh How Good It Is

Oh how good it is

When the family of God

Dwells together in spirit

In faith and unity

Where the bonds of peace

Of acceptance and love

Are the fruit of His presence

Here among us

So with one voice we'll sing to the Lord

And with one heart we'll live out His word

Till the whole earth sees

The Redeemer has come

For He dwells in the presence of His people

Oh how good it is

On this journey we share

To rejoice with the happy

And weep with those who mourn

For the weak find strength

The afflicted find grace

When we offer the blessing

Of belonging

So with one voice we'll sing to the Lord

And with one heart we'll live out His word

Till the whole earth sees

The Redeemer has come

For He dwells in the presence of His people

Oh how good it is

To embrace His command

To prefer one another

Forgive as He forgives

When we live as one

We all share in the love

Of the Son with the Father

And the Spirit

So with one voice we'll sing to the Lord

And with one heart we'll live out His word

Till the whole earth sees

The Redeemer has come

For He dwells in the presence of His people

Blessed Savior Christ divine

Lord of earth and heaven

King of kings now robed in flesh

Born a lowly servant

Eternal glory you exchanged

A crown of jewels for thorns

Then on a cross you hung to die

And by your flesh the veil was torn

Enter in O sinners now

Enter in as saints bow down

For to the cross was nailed your debt

Now paid in full by Jesus’ death

Second Adam covenant head

Toward the cross you set your face

For the joy before your eyes

Lord you ran a perfect race

In death you rested slain for us

Your body in the grave

Then rose the victor death has died

Exalted with the highest name

Exalted with the highest name

Enter in O sinners now

Enter in as saints bow down

For to the cross was nailed your debt

Now paid in full by Jesus’ death

Enter in O all redeemed

Enter in O Church and sing

The blood of Christ for you was shed

Our Savior crushed the serpent’s head

Seated high at God’s right hand

Prophet Priest and King you reign

For our sins you plead your blood

So with boldness we proclaim

Before you every knee will bow

And every tongue confess

Forever God be glorified

For Jesus Christ is Lord of all

Enter in O sinners now

Enter in as saints bow down

For to the cross was nailed your debt

Now paid in full by Jesus’ death

Enter in O all redeemed

Enter in O Church and sing

The blood of Christ for you was shed

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (ESV)

16 Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.

Church, You are God’s Temple

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 | David Lawrence

I. God declares the church as His temple. (v.16a)

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (ESV) Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit

within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

1 Peter 2:5 (ESV) you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

II. God indwells the church as His temple. (v.16b)

Romans 8:9 (ESV) You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God

dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

Ephesians 2:22 (ESV) In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

III. God defends the church as His temple. (v.17a)

Matthew 16:18 (ESV) And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Matthew 10:28 (ESV) And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

IV. God sanctifies the church as His temple. (v.17b)

2 Corinthians 6:16 (ESV) What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the

temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

We Fall Down

We fall down

We lay our crowns

At the feet of Jesus

The greatness of mercy and love

At the feet of Jesus

And we cry holy holy holy

And we cry holy holy holy

And we cry holy holy holy is the Lamb

We fall down

We lay our crowns

At the feet of Jesus

The greatness of mercy and love

At the feet of Jesus

And we cry holy holy holy

And we cry holy holy holy

And we cry holy holy holy is the Lamb

And we cry holy holy holy

And we cry holy holy holy

And we cry holy holy holy is the Lamb

Holy Holy Holy

Holy holy holy

Lord God Almighty

Early in the morning

Our song shall rise to Thee

Holy holy holy

Merciful and mighty

God in three persons

Blessed Trinity

Holy holy holy

All the saints adore Thee

Casting down their golden crowns

Around the glassy sea

Cherubim and seraphim

Falling down before Thee

Who was and is

And evermore shalt be

Holy holy holy

Though the darkness hide Thee

Though the eye of sinful man

Thy glory may not see

Only Thou art holy

There is none beside Thee

Perfect in power

In love and purity

Holy holy holy

Lord God Almighty

All Thy works shall praise Thy name

In earth and sky and sea

Holy holy holy

Merciful and mighty

God in three persons

Blessed Trinity

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (ESV)

23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
