The leadership of Lucy Baptist is dedicated to shepherding our people with the love of Christ and equipping them to carry out God's mission wherever God may lead. If you have any questions for any of our staff, feel free to reach out.
Pastor David Lawrence is a native of Leeds, Alabama. He professed faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior in his childhood and acknowledged a call to vocational ministry in high school. David and his wife, Karen, were married in 1979. They have three adult and married sons and three grandchildren. He is a graduate of Mobile College (now University of Mobile) and Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. David began serving as pastor of Lucy Baptist Church in July 2005. Believing that Scripture is fully inspired by God and completely sufficient to equip us for every area of our lives, he loves preaching through books of the Bible verse by verse. He also finds joy in personal and small group discipleship and in shepherding God's people. David and Karen and the Lucy Baptist Family welcome you to come and participate in worship and Bible study with us!
Jonathan has served as the leader of the worship arts ministry for Lucy Baptist Church since March of 2014 and was ordained as an associate pastor in August of 2022. His primary desire for Lucy's worship gatherings is that they would be a Christ-centered environment that fosters self-sacrificial love for God and one another amongst the membership at Lucy. Jonathan is married to his wife, Becca, who serves alongside him at Lucy. They have a son, Jacob, and a daughter, Hannah. Jonathan has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition from the University of Memphis (2014) and a Master of Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (2017).
